There's a silent between them, will giving the other the time they need to recuperate. Whatever this individual was, they seemed to caught the vampires attention. A spirit? Vengeful ghost? There's endless list of possibilities. The response they gave had the vampire chuckling, "I guess it comes with the perk of being undead... well, not like you where people can't see me. But I'm not exactly human." Its alright to be truthful to them, he hoped.
The response took the Captain a long thoughtful moment to process - his first thought being that the man was yet another ghost that would be stuck in their apparently every growing family but then, clearly not. Not if he was easily visible to the living, at least. None of them had quite that claim to fame. Then what..? His blood, were it capable of doing so, ran cold at the very possibility of some inhuman thing residing within their home. -- ❝Well- I- uh.. ahum.❞ Clearing his throat, he withdrew the swagger stick and brought it tight to his chest with both hands as though only just realising he was still holding it out at the other, his brows furrowing in focus as he tried to remain calm. Steady on, old boy- -- ❝Then I must ask that you identify yourself at once! What exactly are you and what is your business here, hm?❞
